Westword Hosed!

The Westword zine just featured an amazing cover story last week about the plight of the Gunnison sage grouse. It seems this ridiculous-looking bird, just recently recognized as a distinct species from the more typical greater sage grouse, is on the brink of extinction.

The story is great and it’s inspiring to see on the cover of a major weekly rag:

To be honest, as excited as we are to see the article, we are ashamed and kind of insulted that the Westword has scooped us and, in fact, stepped on our bird-loving toes. Two can play at that game. In retaliation we are working on a new section for our next print issue that’s basically 12 pages of sex-worker advertisements.
